Joseph joined the \u201cHashomer Hatzair\u201d underground activities. He went on daring missions and on one of them he was caught in the Gestapo headquarters on Schwabs Hill (Sv\u00e1bhegy). He was deported to Auschwitz.<br \/>\nAfter the liberation Joseph was involved in the B&#8217;riha. He made aliya in 1948 and joined Kibbutz Yassur. In 1960 he left the kibbutz and settled down in Bethlehem Haglilit.
