He studied at German and Slovak schools. In 1939 he joined the \u201cHashomer Hatzair\u201d movement. In 1942, with his wife Hanna, he moved to Hungary. He dealt with the forgery of documents. In June 1944 he moved to Romania, stayed for about two months in Arad in order to organize the reception of the tiyul fugitives from the other side of the border.<br \/>\nDan made aliya in August 1944 and joined Kibbutz Ha\u2019ogen. In 1949, while serving in the IDF, he became blind after an explosion that occurred during an experiment with explosives. Being blind, Dan studied chemistry in the USA.
