Iv\u00e1n studied at the Jewish high school in Budapest and, despite the \u201cNumerus Clausus\u201d, he completed his law and political science studies in the University of Budapest and got his diploma on 30.9.1944.
\nIn 1944 he worked in the framework of the military committee of the Hungarian Communist Party: the L\u00e1szl\u00f3 S\u00f3ly\u00f3m Group, Gy\u00f6rgy P\u00e1lffy, Lajos Feh\u00e9r, the Mar\u00f3ti-Pad\u00e1nyi Unit. Iv\u00e1n himself\u00a0 belonged to the auxiliary unit to the armed forces, Kiska-Kisegit\u0151 Karhatalom, with the rank of lieutenant. He was the liaison between the military committee and \u201cHashomer Hatzair\u201d through David Gur. K\u00e1d\u00e1r succeeded in housing the forgery workshop in the library building of the Student Union \u201cCsaba\u201d. After the liberation Iv\u00e1n was active in the Communist Party until, as a result of the Rajk trial, he was expelled from the Party. Later he was also fired from his job at the university.
\nAfter the turnabout in Hungary in 1989 and the first free elections, Iv\u00e1n was elected to the parliament on the Sz.D.Sz. (The party of the Free Democrats) list. In 1990 his reputation was cleared.
\nIv\u00e1n wrote books about the theories of numbers. Until his death in 1995 he was the chairman of the \u201cAssociation for the Culture of Hungarian Jews\u201d (Magyar Zsid\u00f3k Kultur\u00e1lis Egyes\u00fclete).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":2978,"template":"","Underground Members_cat":[61],"class_list":["post-4596","undergroundmembers","type-undergroundmembers","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","UndergroundMembers_cat-k"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
