Yitzhak studied in a yeshiva. He joined \u201cTze\u2019irei Hamizrahi\u201d and the \u201cBnei Akiva\u201d movement. In 1939 he was elected to the national leadership of \u201cBnei Akiva\u201d and engaged in the establishment of new kenim of the movement in Slovakia. In 1942, after the proclamation of an independent Slovakia, Yitzhak served in the Sered labor camp. In 1943 he fled to Budapest and joined comrades of the movement working for the underground. Yitzhak worked in the Eretz-Israel Office in Budapest in the Youth Department and organized aliya to Eretz Israel (Palestine). He helped rescue his comrades who had remained in Slovakia. Yitzhak participated in the proceedings of the Eretz Israel Office managed by Moshe Krausz.
\nIn 1944 Yitzhak left Hungary with a certificate and was on his way to Eretz Israel (Palestine). He was delayed in Ankara and took part in the deliberations of the Relief and Rescue Committee that was working for the recruitment of European Jews for the rescue of the remaining refugees.
\nWhen Yitzhak arrived in Eretz Israel (Palestine), he met with the leaders of \u201cHapoel Hamizrahi\u201d in order to convince them to take part in the rescue of European Jewry. He fought as a private soldier in the War of Independence.
