Gy\u00f6rgy joined the movement when he was in grade 7 at the Jewish high school. Shortly after the Germans invaded Hungary on 19.3.1944, he was enlisted in a forced labor unit. When his unit was about to be sent westwards, Gy\u00f6rgy escaped and returned to Budapest where he joined the underground activities of his movement. He engaged in distributing forged documents, taking Jewish children to the children\u2019s houses in the care of the Zionist youth movements and in other activities. Gy\u00f6rgy stayed in one of the bunkers, was caught and murdered along with another eight comrades.<\/p>\n
