Tzivonit came from a religious Jewish family. After her hometown was annexed to Hungary, she was trapped in Bratislava and studied there. She smuggled across the border into Hungary and arrived in Budapest. Tzivonit joined the \u201cHashomer Hatzair\u201d movement and, equipped with forged documents, she took part in the underground activities. She left Hungary on the train of the Relief and Rescue Committee. In September 1945 Tzivonit made aliya, and, after being detained in the Atlit camp, she was a member of the garin In Kibbutz Negba. She served in the Hagana.
