He joined the youth underground and served as a liaison between the “Glass House” on V\u00e1das Street and the “protected houses” that were under the protection of neutral countries.
\nAbout ten days before the liberation of Budapest by the Red Army, he and his friend Haim Blau were tasked with making contact and delivering food to a group of friends who had been captured in bunkers and released by the underground from the prison on Margit Korut and were hiding in a hiding place.
\nKarpaty and Blau left the “Glass House” with food packages in their hands, but did not reach their destination. No trace of them was found.
