Sándor lived in Budapest from 1944 and was an underground activist. The Laciköz bunker where he was staying was attacked by Arrow Cross men and gendarmes. He and his friends tried to break out of the bunker but were killed in a firearm battle with their attackers. His friend Schwartz Frigyes and another seven friends from the city of Miskolc, whose names are not known, were also killed.
