István came from a Zionist family. He studied at the Jewish high school in his hometown. His father was the assistant manager of the Keren Kayemet and the chairman of the Zionist Organization in his town. After 19.3.1944 István fled to Budapest and joined the underground activities. He was caught while distributing forged documents and killed in unclear circumstances.
