Árpád was an officer in the Hungarian army during WW I. He was a sportsman and a sports businessman. He approached the Zionist movement and the “Gordon Circle”. He sent his son to Eretz Israel (Palestine) in 1941 with a “Hashomer Hatzair” group. Árpád saved Jewish children from Slovakia. His apartment served as a workshop for forged papers where Shraga Weil and David Gur worked for a while. In the summer of 1944 he left Hungary on the train of the Relief and Rescue Committee. Árpád made aliya and joined the Sh’ar Yashuv settlement.
