Haim arrived in Budapest in 1941. He gave assistance to refugees arriving from Slovakia. He was caught and deported back to Slovakia but succeeded in returning to Budapest.
After the Germans invaded Hungary on 19.3.1944, Haim was caught again and imprisoned in the detention camp in Kistarcsa. He escaped and, in June 1944, managed to cross the border into Romania within the framework of the tiyul together with a group of friends. In Romania Haim was caught again but managed to get free.
In November 1944 he arrived in Eretz Israel (Palestine). He was a member of the garin of the hahshara in Kibbutz Negba and from 1946 to 1960 was a member of Kibbutz Yehiam.
He was married to Lea Tzur and lived in Givatayim.
