Lea joined the movement in 1939. After the Germans invaded Hungary on 19.3.1944, she was rescued from Debrecen by Haim Golan (Fettmann), an emissary from the movement, together with another four girls. She took part in rescue operations equipped with forged documents. She traveled mainly between Debrecen and Budapest and moved house in order to avoid being arrested. On 30.6.1944 she left Hungary on the train of the Relief and Rescue Committee. On 2.9.1945 Lea arrived in Eretz Israel (Palestine). She was a member of the hahshara garin in Kibbutz Negba and, from 1946 until 1960, a member of Kibbutz Yehiam. She is married to Haim Tzur and resides in Givatayim.
