Ezra attended elementary school in his hometown and then studied at the Jewish high school in Budapest. After the Germans invaded Hungary on 19.3.1944, he went underground. Ezra engaged in obtaining authentic documents from the offices of the Population Registry in the capital. He engaged in transferring equipment for the forgery of documents and in hiding it. In May 1944 he traveled to Vésztø in order to give forged Christian papers to David Gur-Grosz’ sister, Miriam (nowadays Reshef), and help her escape to Budapest. His mission did not go off very well due to the family’s opposition. In June 1944 Ezra fled from Hungary in the framework of the tiyul and that same year he arrived in Eretz Israel (Palestine). He stayed for some time in Kibbutz Ramat Hashofet in the framework of a garin. Ezra moved to Jerusalem and studied biology at university. In November 1947 he married Aczél Marika, now Hanna Oren. During the War of Independence Ezra volunteered for service in the students’ unit. He fought in the battles for the conquest of the Castel and fell there. Ezra’s parents perished in Auschwitz.
