From an early age Asher was a member of the Marosvásárhely (Tárgu MureΣ) ken of the movement. He became the head of the ken and a member of the central leadership in Transylvania. During the Romanian rule over the area Asher was active in the Aliya Bet, was caught, put on trial and imprisoned. In 1941 he was enlisted in a forced labour unit.
Asher perished in Ukraine.
