David studied at a yeshiva and learned carpentry. He was among the founders and activists of the “Hashomer Hatzair” ken in his hometown. In April 1944 he was enlisted in a forced labor unit. In July 1944 his sister, Tzippi, was sent to him and brought him and his friends forged documents, money as well as instructions for escape. In August David arrived in Budapest and joined the underground. He crossed the border into Romania within the framework of the tiyul. When he passed through the city of Arad, on his way to Bucharest, the train was attacked by German planes. David was hit and died. The attack was the result of Romania’s decision to break its alliance with Germany. David was buried in the Jewish cemetery in Arad.
