Joseph came from an ultra-orthodox Jewish environment in Kaszony. He moved to Budapest. Joseph was one of the prominent figures in his movement. After the Germans invaded Hungary on 19.3.1944, he became an underground activist. Joseph fell sick, had to have an operation and for a long time was bedridden. He was enlisted in a forced labor unit. Joseph perished in an nknown place.
