׳Dror Habonim׳
A Zionist socialist movement, founded before WWI in Russia. Involved mainly in self-defense. After the Bolshevik Revolution, Dror Habonim’s center was moved to Poland, and in 1925 joined the Left Poalei Zion. The movement established chapters in several countries and founded many settlements in Eretz Israel. In Hungary, Dror Habonim was formed in 1939, from the merging of Dror with Hahalutz Hatzair, although its members had already been active since the early 1930s, under various names. In early 1944, there was another merger of three movements – Dror, Hahalutz Hatzair and Habonim. After 1946, following a split, Dror Habonim joined Ahdut Ha’avodah, and Netzach Habonim joined Mapai.
